‘2024 APEC Peru – 2025 APEC Gyeongju’ Photo Exhibition Purpose Statement
Dongguk University WISE Campus is hosting a special photo exhibition to commemorate the hosting of ‘2024 APEC Peru’ and to pray for the success of ‘2025 APEC Gyeongju’.
This exhibition aims to introduce the history, culture, and beautiful natural landscapes of both Peru and Gyeongju through photographs that demonstrate their cultural values.
Peru is well known for its Incan civilization heritage and natural wonders. Its iconic ruins at Machu Picchu, remain a precious cultural heritage site. Gyeongju is a city with a thousand-year history of the Silla Dynasty, and reveals Korea's traditions and beauty through world cultural heritage sites such as Bulguk Temple and Seokguram Grotto.
Through this photo exhibition, Dongguk University WISE Campus aims to provide a venue for cultural exchange between Peru and Gyeongju and to expand academic exchanges with Peruvian universities.
Dongguk University WISE Campus is working on designing a new academic system based on regional history, culture, tourism, and cutting-edge energy industry. We especially plan to converge these various elements in one college called the College of Glocal Culture Convergence and to nurture New Silk Road talents who will brighten the future of the region and lead K-culture.
We hope that this photo exhibition will be a meaningful way to experience the beautiful scenery of Peru, Gyeongju, and Dongguk University WISE Campus, as well as their historical values and unique cultures.
